General Description

The Petite Series™ is a collection of dwarf crapemyrtles, all maturing at about chest height. This member of the series, 'Monimp,' produces showy clusters of deep crimson-red flowers on its branch tips. It is a heat-loving deciduous shrub that flowers in late summer into autumn. Fall foliage on 'Monimp' ranges from golden yellow to orange.

Like other crapemyrtles, ‘Monimp’ tolerates almost any well-drained soil and grows best in hot, sunny locations. Powdery mildew (a leaf disease) may be a problem and can be diminished with good air flow around this shrub, so give it room. Use 'Monimp' for its size and low maintenance in the mixed border or along a building foundation. It provides bloom and interest when many plants in the garden have the summer blah’s.
