PAPAVER orientale 'Allegro'
Allegro Oriental Poppy, Oriental Poppy
Papaver orientale, commonly called oriental poppy, is a clump-forming perennial native to eastern Europe and western Asia that blooms in early summer. The cultivar 'Allegro' is a dwarf selection with magnificent orange-red blooms borne on long stems that dance above toothed hairy leaves. Its foliage dies back after plants bloom and then re-emerges in the fall. Provide these plants with full to part sun and well drained average soil. Plant them in clusters in mixed beds
