General Description

Large, bright orange-red flower clusters cover this high performing, heat tolerant zonal geranium. Calliope™ Scarlet Fire is a compact, easy to grow cultivar that will bloom continuously if well cared for. It was bred and introduced by the California company, Goldsmith Seeds.

Zonal geraniums are tender perennials with fragrant, somewhat fleshy evergreen leaves that are lobed and crisp medium to deep green. Their showy flowers are single and borne in large terminal clusters. Flower colors include red, white, pink, orange, purple and salmon shades.

Vigorous and easy to grow, pelargoniums prefer full to partial sun and average to fertile soil that drains well. Overwatering can result in root or crown rot. Most hybrids are everblooming and require regular deadheading for best appearance and flower production. Apply the prescribed amount of slow release fertilizer at the base of the plants while in active growth. They offer bright, easy color all season long and are ideal for flowers beds and borders, containers or hanging baskets.
