General Description

Profusely bearing large flower clusters, the Showcase™ Series of zonal geraniums are renowned for their more intense flower colors compared to the many other selections on the market. Plants have a compact, mounding but upright, well-branching habit and their bright green leaves have only faint zonal bands. These hybrid plants bloom continuously if well-maintained, such as deadheading old flower heads and stems.

Popularly used as summertime annuals, Showcase™ Series plants are tender perennials with fragrant, somewhat fleshy evergreen leaves that are rounded with small, irregularly scalloped edges. The flowers are borne in ball-like terminal clusters above the mass of leaves, attracting butterflies. Each blossom has five or more petals, and this series' colors include intense and showy shades of white, pink and red in the cultivar list.

Vigorous and easy-to-grow, Showcase™ Series zonal geraniums grow best in full to partial sun and average to fertile soil that drains well. Overwatering can result in root or crown rot. These hybrids are everblooming and require regular deadheading for best appearance and flower production. They can be planted in the foreground of mixed beds and borders, window boxes and containers or as edging rows. Although frost-tender in winter, geraniums will also eventually succumb to extreme tropical humidity and heat conditions in summer. Therefore, in such regions, grow them in the frost-free winter dry season for best performance.
