A small, conical tree known mostly by its dwarf gold- or blue-leaved forms, oriental arborvitae is native to China, Korea and Manchuria. 'Blue Cone' is a compact, pyramidal cultivar with flat sprays of bluish green foliage held on upright branches.
'Blue Cone' likes sun or partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It works well in foundation plantings, low hedges, and mixed borders.
