Autumn Sage
Autumn sage is a heat-loving, bushy, evergreen perennial or subshrub that is native to Texas and Mexico. The Navajo Series of Autumn Sage is compact, free-flowering with lightly fragrant foliage and flowers. The flowers are single and very clear in color. Throughout spring, summer and fall, plants are covered with small medium green leaves and bear loose spikes of pretty lipped flowers in shades of red, violet and pink. The flowers appear though out the year in warm climates.
Drought tolerant and tough, autumn sage is easy to grow if provided with full sun and well drained, average soil. Its flowers are highly attractive to hummingbirds and add color to containers and sunny mixed beds. In northern zones autumn sage may be grown as a tender perennial.
