Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'
Caradonna Sage, Meadow Sage, Woodland Sage
Caradonna sage is an mounded, multi-stemmed hardy perennial that originates from Europe to Central Asia. From summer to fall, flower spikes of dark violet-blue appear over crinkly, slightly aromatic, dull green leaves. These flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies, and bloom time will be extended if spent spikes are removed. Grow this tough sage in well-drained soil and full sun. It is ideal for cottage gardens and sunny perennial borders.
