Family

Crassulaceae

Botanical Name

SEDUM spurium 'Blaze of Fulda' ('('Fuldaglut')')

Plant Common Name

Tworow Stonecrop

General Description

Two-row stonecrop is a robust creeping evergreen perennial from the Caucasus region of Eurasia. The cultivar 'Bronze Carpet' is primarily grown for its dense fleshy rounded foliage that is dark maroon-red year-round. Flat terminal clusters of rose-red funnel-shaped flowers appear in summer, attracting bumblebees and butterflies.

A rock garden favorite, this stonecrop prefers full sun and moist well drained acidic to alkaline soil, but also flourishes in bright shade. It works well as a groundcover or wall plant, blanketing the ground and even climbing vertical surfaces where happy.
