Sedum 'Vera Jameson'
Hybrid Showy Stonecrop, Vera Jameson Stonecrop
Proven by time, this hybrid of the rugged Eurasian native Sedum telephium remains among the most versatile sedums (and herbaceous perennials) thanks to its compact stature, fabulous color and overall vigor. Its lax, purple, calf-high stems are densely clothed with rounded purple-gray leaves from spring until fall. The leaves take on stronger, pinker tones as the season progresses. In late summer rounded broccoli-like clusters of dusty rose-pink flowers appear above the foliage, attracting bees and butterflies. The brown seed heads that follow provide moderate winter interest.
This plant demands full sun, good drainage and moderate fertility. Beware of overwatering late in the season when plants prefer to be on the dry side. Use this lovely and durable perennial in perennial borders, rock gardens, and containers.
