Zigzag Bamboo

General Description

Zigzag bamboo is a dwarf evergreen bamboo native to China. It has gracefully arching canes that zigzag slightly between the lance-shaped, shiny, bright green leaves. It spreads steadily but not invasively by rhizomes. Zigzag bamboo prefers partial to full shade and moist, fertile, acid soil. It works well as a small-scale ground cover or as a potted or waterside accent plant.
