Asteraceae
Tagetes erecta( DISCOVERY SERIES)
African Marigold, American Marigold, Discovery Marigolds
Members of the Discovery Series are vigorous, floriferous and have nice bushy habits. African marigolds are annuals that produce large, long-lasting flowers of yellow, orange, or orange-red. Discovery marigolds have large, double blooms that are long-lasting. These occur throughout the growing season and look best if kept regularly deadheaded. Their ferny, dark-green foliage has a distinctive smell reminds one of warm summer days.
Marigolds are heat tolerant and grow best in average soil with good drainage and require full sun. They make excellent companions in vegetable gardens and look great in containers or mixed borders.
