General Description

Compact and slow-growing, ‘Sunkist’ is a neat, cone-shaped, scaled evergreen shrub originating from northeastern North America. It has golden yellow foliage. This popular landscaping plant has tight sprays of soft, feathery, golden yellow foliage covering branches.

Arborvitae performs best in full to part sun and slightly acidic soil with average drainage. In winter it appreciates protection from severe sun and high winds, which can cause leaf scorch. Highly versatile, ‘Sunkist’ is an excellent plant for walkways, rock gardens, foundation plantings, or mixed borders. Its conical shape contrasts nicely with ornamentals with low, arching or prostrate habits. This cultivar is exceptional as a bonsai specimen.
