An easy – and affordable – way to boost the curb appeal of your home is to plant a window box with flowering plants. Seasonal color brings beauty and interest to an ordinary front yard, as well as can highlight the architectural features of your home (a job tailor-made for annuals). Filling window boxes with flowers takes only a few hours to plan, purchase and install. Choose plants that either trail over the edge or mound high up into the window opening, where they appear as though in a frame. Follow the easy steps shown in the pictures and described in their captions for a charming, successful result.

Window Box Planting - Step 3
Plant annuals or flowering perennials into the containers, using two transplants in each pot to ensure that there will be no gaps in the floral display should one plant fail. If you’d like, add a whimsical garden decoration to bring some extra personality and interest to your planting.
