(Fall Sesleria)
Forming upright, sprightly, evergreen tussocks of verdant knee-high foliage, this clumping evergreen perennial grass from southeastern Europe also features attractive flowers in fall. The thin bright apple-green leaves are v-shaped in cross section. Older leaves turn tawny colors in fall. In late summer narrowly cylindrical spikes of purplish flowers with creamy white stamens rise above the leaves. The spikes turn tan and brown in autumn and persist through winter.
