(Delphinium)

Delphinium ‘Astolat’ produces long spires of rare deep pink flowers which tower over the garden in early to midsummer. A Pacific Giant hybrid, it is part of the Round Table Series, each of which features a name relevant to Camelot. Its spurred, semi-double flowers are densely packed on very tall stems, and feature small white “bees”, or central tufts of stamens. The showy blooms arise from clumps of deeply-lobed, rich green foliage, and are visited by hummingbirds, bees and butterflies.

(Aurora Delphinium)

The Aurora Series of larkspur includes plants that are vigorous, early flowering perennial that densely lines its tall flower spikes with blossoms. The deeply lobed, green foliage is accented by a showy display of semi-double (extra petals) flowers, on very tall spikes from late spring to midsummer. Butterflies and hummingbirds will visit the blossoms, called florets, which are available in a range of colors including white, purple, lavender and medium blue. This is an elatum-type delphinum group.
